Legal English Lessons

Speak your clients' language

Whether you’re a law student or the managing partner of a law firm, speaking English is a necessity these days.

Foreign businesses are doing big business in your country and they need your legal services. But, if you are unable to communicate with these businesses, how can they possibly be your clients?

No, they are going to use your competitors.

If you can speak English however, and you can explain local laws and business practices effectively, you could just be the most sought after lawyer in your firm.

Focusing on what you need

Many legal English courses assume you want to understand British and American legal systems and traditions. Sure it can be interesting, but does your client really care if you understand 200 year old legal traditions in other countries?

What your client wants is someone who can understand what they are trying to do and why, and to communicate to them what options they have and the legal ramifications and work involved.

Whatever your specialism, this is what we will focus on – your communication with the people who need your legal skills – whether that communication is in person, over the phone or through email.

We can work on a broad range of specialisms, including:

  • Commercial law
  • Litigation
  • Contract law
  • IP (Intellectual Property)
  • Taxation
  • Real estate
  • Criminal law
  • Family law
  • Probate
